- At their recent board meeting, the CU regents received an overview of tuition and fee proposals. They discussed hiring and retention and heard updates on CU Boulder’s Climate Action Plan, the CU Strategic Plan and more.
- At the most recent Boulder Faculty Assembly meeting, President Todd Saliman visited and addressed CU Boulder's place as a national leader in climate action and sustainability, among other topics.
- As part of ongoing efforts to advance access, affordability and student success, CU Boulder graduate students and undergraduate Colorado residents will pay a per-credit rate of tuition if they enroll in 1, 2 or 3 credit hours.
- The campus controller role—opening posted through Feb. 1—is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity and advancing the strategic financial initiatives of CU Boulder.
- CU Boulder Chief Operating Officer Patrick O’Rourke announced three finalists for the position of associate vice chancellor for public safety. Review the candidates’ bios and register to attend the forums, which will take place Jan. 9, 10, 11.
- A revised academic calendar, which will be effective in the fall of 2025, focuses on student academic preparedness and promotes health and well-being.
- Chancellor Philip DiStefano and other CU representatives addressed the Colorado General Assembly’s Capital Development Committee on Dec. 14.
- CU Boulder along with 16 universities in Colorado and Wyoming will move to a contract extension with Elsevier, an academic publisher, that will ensure access to journals while yearlong negotiations continue over costs of a new multi-year read access contract.
- A new council, chaired by Patrick O’Rourke, will be charged with leading overarching campus sustainability implementation efforts, including driving action, transparency and accountability around CU Boulder’s carbon neutrality commitments and the forthcoming campus Climate Action Plan.
- Wrapping up the semester, Provost Russell Moore outlined his 2023–24 priorities for the Boulder Faculty Assembly. Four resolutions were passed, including one supporting prioritizing climate change and sustainability actions and one supporting Israeli and Palestinian communities impacted by the war.
