Funding HearingsÌý
During our ASSG meetingsÌýon Wednesday, different clubs and organizations can come and propose a budget amount for an event, retreat, conferance, competition, etc. They come to us with the hope that we can help with the cost of whatever they would like to do. College can beÌýa big and overwhelmingÌýcost, but the Arts and Sciences student government is given a large sum of money to be given back to the students. By using the money we collect, we ensure clubs areÌýgiven the resourcesÌýto grow and reach more students. We are able to help students expand their knowledge by giving them the opportunity to go to different conferences and retreats, and we are able to help students have more fun and enjoy their college experience. When a different club or organizationÌýcomes to us seeking financial help, we look for inclusion and purpose. Once they have given us their presentation regarding what they ask for us to fund, we ask for them to step outside, and thenÌýwe deliberate amongst ourselves to come to a conclusion. Before we can agree to use student funds, we make sure the CU community will be positively impacted.ÌýWe aim to make CU a better and more welcoming place for all.
