Inclusion and Belonging Action Group
The Inclusion and Belonging Action Group (IBA) provides strategic guidance and transparency for intercultural humility and cultivates anÌýinclusive and equitable environment. The IBA strives to unite staff from across Health and Wellness to bring justice, equity, inclusion and belonging together in a systematic, intentionalÌýand integrated approach. The action group works closely with a Senior Diversity, EquityÌý& Inclusion Consultant to ensure alignment of our action plan and impact assessment with the university’s overall five common DEI goals.  Ìý
What does the committee do?
Ìý
Makes recommendations to senior leadership in Health and Wellness
Ìý
Acts as a catalyst for fostering cultural change within the units, departmentsÌýand programs.   Ìý
Ìý
Identifies, gathersÌýand openly communicates data outlining the state of equity, diversity, belonging and inclusion
Ìý
Monitors progress towards justice, equity, diversity, belongingÌýand inclusion goals and recommends policies, procedures, and accountability for results achieved   Ìý
Ìý
Amplifies evidence-based strategies to address equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice to improve the recruitment, retention and overall culture for underrepresented staff and students   Ìý
Ìý
Supports and advises on justice, equity, diversity, belonging and inclusion actions and activities  Ìý
Ìý
Serves as a communication and collaboration hub for all groups working on equity, diversity, belonging, and inclusion efforts across the units, departments, and programs  Ìý

Works with a DEI Consultant to implement change  Ìý

All employees will demonstrate increases in diversity, equity, and inclusion skills and a capacity to better meet the needs of the university’s diverse community of students, faculty, and staff, specifically including the well-being of marginalized communities.Ìý
