Global certificate participants

The globalization of the marketplace demands employees who can successfully compete in a multicultural business environment in the United States and around the world. Understanding the significant cultural, economic, and political differences between countries and regions is vital to success in international business.

To develop these competencies, the Leeds School of Business offers theÌýGlobal Business CertificateÌýto its students. Students who graduate with the certificate will receive a teal and black cord.

Global Business Certificate Requirements

ÌýÌýEnrollment Requirements

Requirements for students to enroll into the Global Certificate Program.

  • Must be an undergraduate business major
  • Encouraged to enroll by the end of sophomore year

ÌýÌý International Business Courses

Students must complete three (9 credits) of the following courses:

  • International Business Management (INBU 3300)
  • International Marketing (INBU 3450)
  • International Operations Management (MGMT 4150)
  • International Financial Management (INBU 4200)
  • Business Solutions for the Developing World (CESR 4005)
  • Any Leeds Global Seminar or Global Intensive

ÌýÌý International Elective Courses

Students must complete two courses* (6 credits) from any of the following subject areas:

  • ÌýÌýÌý Business
  • ÌýÌýÌý Economics
  • ÌýÌýÌý Geography
  • ÌýÌýÌý History
  • ÌýÌýÌý Global Studies
  • ÌýÌýÌý International Affairs
  • ÌýÌýÌý Language**
  • ÌýÌýÌý Political Science

ÌýÌýExperiential Learning Opportunities

Global Business students will need to participate in the following activities to complement their international coursework:

  • International Community Connections can be attendance at any CU-sponsored international affairs event.ÌýAn off-campusÌýevent with a global focus would also apply with prior approval.
  • To show that you attended or participated in an event, please email Leeds.Global@colorado.edu a confirmation of attendance (ticket stub, photo, sign-in sheet) with the date and name of the event and a brief summary or take-awayÌýfrom the event.
  • Leeds Global will confirm your attendanceÌýwhich will be reflected in your degree audit.

ÌýÌýOptional Add-On

Through a special relationship between the Leeds College of Business and NASBITE, students can join the that prepares students for the CGBP exam through weekly study guides and an online community. Students can study at their own pace and take the exam at a discounted rate. The Student Pathway Program also provides membership to NASBITE.
