- Recently at the annual Fall Convocation, the campus community honored 95 faculty members for their excellence in teaching, scholarship, leadership and service.
- The award honors those who have made world-leading contributions in the field of physics, this year including JILA fellow Margaret Murnane. Murnane's work has been influential in advancing laser technology, optics research and quantum information science.
- Department of Computer Science Professor Daniel Larremore has been recognized by Popular Science in its annual “brilliant 10” publication, listing top up-and-coming minds in science.
- The National Association of Science Writers has awarded CU Boulder science writer Dan Strain an honorable mention in its prestigious Excellence in Institutional Writing Awards competition for his story “A Walk in Two Worlds.”
- Cassandra Brooks, a scientist who ‘always undercut’ herself, is being honored by the Explorers Club and the Society of Women Geographers.
- With awards to Lisa Hiura, Sara Sawyer and Aaron Whiteley, the National Institutes of Health has funded CU Boulder researchers’ work on mental illnesses, better HIV vaccines and improved cancer treatments.
- Kaufman, a JILA fellow, will take home this prestigious award for his work advancing the control of atoms and molecules to improve atomic clocks and quantum information processing.
- The Colorado chapter of the Public Relations Society of America honored College of Media, Communication and Information affiliates with Gold Pick Awards, and the Strategic Relations and Communications media team with three Silver Pick Awards for science-based stories and media pitches on health and tech topics.
- One of the Leeds School's newest professors was recognized this summer with a Best Paper Award from the Academy of Management for his work on trust trajectories.
