- Twenty-eight CU Boulder engineering students have earned National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships for 2023.
- A team of College of Media, Communication and Information students took second place in a competition for their campaign, which was designed to help fight fake news for the News Literacy Project.
- Six CU Boulder students and alumni have been named Fulbright finalists for the 2023–24 academic year by the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Another two students were named alternates.
- Karen Bailey will present her work on the fraught relationship between elephant and human communities in Thailand when she receives her award at the Ecological Society of America annual meeting.
- This year, the Office of Faculty Affairs awarded six faculty members the first-ever Outstanding Faculty Mentoring Award, which recognizes excellence in mentorship of faculty by faculty.
- CU Boulder has presented Hanspeter Schaub with the 2023 Hazel Barnes Prize, the university’s largest and most prestigious single faculty award. The honor recognizes outstanding teachers who also have distinguished records in research and scholarship.
- A CU Boulder faculty member has been recognized with a national excellence in teaching award from a leading group for professional, continuing and online education.
- CU Boulder has been recognized as a top volunteer-producing university by the Peace Corps, coming in at No. 5 nationally among the top 25 schools producing volunteers since 2003.
- The City of Boulder Landmarks Board recognized CU Boulder’s 1135 Broadway building, which now houses the Renée Crown Wellness Institute, with a project award.
- Cell biologist Gia Voeltz and theoretical physicist Ana Maria Rey are among the more than 140 scientists elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2023.
