10 things to do this weekend: International Coffee Hour, Rocky Mountain Showdown, more

This weekend brings the Rocky Mountain Showdown, a chance to swim in the Buff Pool, volleyball, soccer and much more.

Friday, Aug. 30

  All day  

Calling all innovators, dreamers, change agents and wannabes! If you're curious about how to get started solving problems (large or small) and how to make money, find partners, find mentors and get resources while doing it, then stop by the Startup Hub. 

  9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Stop by the Office of Technology's  tent located on the west side of the Technology Learning Center to learn about campus IT service offerings and spin a wheel to get a prize!

  4–5:30&²Ô²ú²õ±è;±è.³¾.  

Stop by this weekly event for free coffee, tea and snacks. This is a great opportunity to connect with the international community here at CU Boulder. Units from across campus also frequently join the event to share information about the student services they provide.

  4 p.m.  

Stop by the Herd’s exclusive student tailgate inside Ralphie’s Corral for free snacks, refreshments and performances from the Spirit Squad and Marching Band before the big game in Denver! Plus, scan your Herd App for free game-day swag. Free - Registration not required.

  8 p.m.  

Get out and support the Buffs as they open their 2019 football schedule against the CSU Rams in the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown. Go Buffs!


Saturday, Aug. 31

  10 a.m.  

Support the CU women volleyball team as they face the Long Island University Brooklyn Blackbirds in the Buffs Invitational.

  12–4 p.m.  

As long as outdoor temperatures are 75+ degrees, you can take a plunge during open swim. Who wants to jump in?


Sunday, Sept. 1

  1–4 p.m.  

Support your CU women soccer team as they take on the Longhorns in this match at Prentup Field. The first 500 fans in attendance will get a free thunder stick!

  5 p.m.  

The stars of tomorrow are on stage today at CU Boulder. The students of the College of Music present works old and new for their degree-qualifying recitals.

  11:59 p.m.

Apply for the Environmental Center's Sustainability Leadership Program and learn leadership skills while learning about sustainability.
