10 Things to Do This Week: Housing fair, trivia night and more

This week brings Inclusive Rec: Novice Climbing Night, a volunteer fair, the chance to try out campus Relaxation Stations, a Technology Career Fair, a Forrest Gump screening, CU on Friday and more.

Monday, Jan. 28

  3:30–4:30&Բ;..    Biotech Building, Room B115
Check out this information session where you can learn about the different ways to get paid to do research here at CU Boulder, how to apply for these programs and ask any questions you may have to the programs’ own staff. Snacks will be available. This event is open to all students.

  5:30–6&Բ;..    UMC 458
Join the Alternative Breaks team for an informative session and learn about how you can make a difference over your break. All students and questions are welcome. No registration necessary.

  7 p.m.    The Connection
Test your knowledge of everything from celebrities to sports to history and more at Trivia Night. Teams and individuals welcome. Sign up at 6 p.m. at The Connection front desk. Free entry, and there are prizes.

  8:15–10 p.m.    Rec Center, Climbing Gym
If you want to give climbing a try or get back into it, head to the Rec Center for Novice Climbing Night. Attendees will have free access to bouldering and auto-belays. The Outdoor Program will also have several staff members available to offer instructional advice and to belay climbers. All experience levels are welcome.

Check out the new Relaxation Stations

Feeling sleepy? Relaxation Stations at The Rec and Health Promotion office in Wardenburg now feature nap pods for a safe and relaxing way to recharge. Nap pods are self-contained napping stations with comfortable lounging chairs, sleep music and gentle wake sequence—all designed to create an optimal environment for a power nap. Meet with employers from different technical fields to learn about job and internship opportunities. Students and alumni from all majors, experience levels and backgrounds are welcome to attend this free event.

Enjoy free admission and popcorn at this screening of Forrest Gump.
