Summer Session Online Teaching Academy Application Now Live

Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Summer Session Online Teaching Academy.

The Online Teaching Academy focuses on increasing the skills and knowledge of faculty and instructors wanting to teach online and hybrid remote/online during the 2025 Summer Session. Participants chosen for the Academy's Summer 2025 program will work in cohort groups led by an online instructional designer. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a one-time $1,500 payment.

The training program will be held during February 2025 and will consist of weekly remote meetings over a four week period. The curriculum will be based on national standards for online teaching found in the — and will cover topics regarding online teaching (asynchronous) as well as remote/online hybrid teaching (synchronous and asynchronous).

Faculty, instructors, lecturers and graduate students eligible and expecting to teach in the upcoming Summer Session are eligible.

To apply for the Academy, .  After submitting the online application, ask your department chair to send an email verifying your Summer 2025 teaching status to Armando Parés at armando.pares@colorado.edu.

The deadline for applications is December 2, 2024.

Training Program Details

  • Monday, February 3 – Sunday, March 2
  • Time commitment expectations: Three to five hours/week
  • Synchronous Zoom Meeting Times (One hour long, attend only one session per week, choose whichever time is more convenient)
    • Wednesdays at 11:15 a.m.
    • Thursdays at 2 p.m.

Summer Session courses are now available to search in the CU Boulder Course Search.

Earn the credit you need during the summer with popular courses taught by CU Boulder's top faculty. Consider the benefits of taking one or two summer classes during convenient, short sessions offered between May and August:

Summer Master of Music Education

The Summer Master of Music Education (MME) degree at the University of Colorado Boulder is designed to address a variety of interests, needs and areas of expertise for K-12 teachers. Students working toward an MME degree complete 12 hours of study in music education, 12 hours of study in music and six hours of open electives.
