CU-Boulder music students, faculty to present 'Shades of Jazz' March 8 at Lone Tree Arts Center

Students and faculty from the CU-BoulderÌýÌýwill perform some of the greatest music of the swing era March 8 in Lone Tree, hosted by the CU-Boulder Denver Metro Alumni Chapter.

Shades of Jazz: From Latin to SwingÌýwill feature music by Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Dizzy Gillespie and more, performed by the student Thompson Latin-Jazz All Stars and the Thompson Jazz Faculty Quintet.

CU's jazz-studies program was established in 1996, under formerÌýÌýDean Daniel Sher.ÌýIn 2013 it was named in honor of Jeannie and Jack Thompson, in recognition of their $1.6 million donation to the program.Ìý
