CU head football coach Mike MacIntyre is the . He received the honor on Dec. 15, along with the FWAA/Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year award by the Football Writers Association of America.Ìý

In early December, MacIntyreÌýwas named theÌý, college football'sÌýtop coaching award,Ìýand received theÌýPac-12 Coach of the Year designation at the end of the regular season.Ìý

At the start of the 2016 season, the Buffs were expected to finish last in the Pac-12. Instead, they finished 8-1 in the conference — reversing their 2015 performance of 1-8Ìý—Ìýand won the South Division. The team fell to the Washington Huskies in the Pac-12 Championship Game Dec. 2.Ìý

This is MacIntyre’s fourth season as CU’s head coach. He will lead the Buffs —Ìýranked No. 11 in the country —Ìýin their first bowl game appearance in a decade versus No. 13 Oklahoma State atÌýthe Ìýin San Antonio, Texas, Dec. 29.Ìý
