Photos from 2016 Summer Intensive

A dozen incoming students were on campus the week of July 20Ìýfor the 2016 Pathways to Excellence in Media, Communication and Information Summer Intensive.ÌýThe intensive is a residential workshop that prepares incoming CMCI freshmenÌýfor academic success in the college's areas of study. Students get the chance to makeÌýtheir own advertising campaigns and multimedia projects, receive math and writing instruction and tour newsrooms and ad agencies. The students ended the second day with a barbecue at journalism professor Paul Voakes' house.
After working hard, students got a break and a chance to enjoy the Colorado Rockies. The crew set off for some whitewater rafting.
Students then headed to Denver to take tours of some of the area's biggest news outlets. Here, students pose in the lobby of the Denver Post's downtown office.
