“Prof. Roberts will explore theÌýNataliciaÌý(Birthday Poems) of Paulinus of Nola, written in a continuous sequence betweenÌýthe years 395 and 407 for the annual festival of St. Felix of Nola. They constitute a remarkable, extremely varied cycle of verses. Among other claims to fame they were the first written for a non-martyred saint and the first to versify a saint’s miracles.
