EMPOWERS

EMPOWERS is a BioFrontiers program that funds and supports activities for broadening participation in science and inclusive excellence.

Activities include:

  • Bringing in seminar speakers from diverse backgrounds following a broad range of scientific career paths

  • Financial support for student-led community building groups

  • Partnering with the Bridges to Biosciences program to sponsor summer research opportunities for local community college students

  • Contributing to recruitment of faculty members with a commitment to community building and public engagement
