Michelle Maiden and Mark Hoefer were published in . ÌýTheir paper,ÌýModulations of viscous fluid conduit periodic waves, presents a theoretical investigation of the stability and dynamics of periodic waves in the viscous fluid conduit system. ÌýNew coherent wave structures called envelope solitons are identified. ÌýPrevious lab experiments by the group have observed dispersive shock waves in this system. ÌýIn a future project, the lab hopes to observe envelopeÌýsolitons in experiments with viscous fluid conduits.
